Emma and Yanssel, who had never met, were both invited to a concert by their close mutual friend Zach. This friend had decided to invite two groups of people who had never met to the event. He's a peculiar guy; you know, the type of person who invites people who don't know each other to the same event. You know the kind. Because Zach's taste in music is, er, different, neither Emma nor Yanssel were interested in going.
Emma had recently moved back to Rochester for nursing school, and she had quite a few friends still living in the area. It turned out that a lot of Emma's friends had also been invited to the concert, and Emma really wanted to spend some time with them. So, while she wasn't interested in the concert itself, she decided to go so that she could see her friends again.
A few hours before the concert, Yanssel's friend, Mike, called him up to ask whether he was going to go. Yanssel said he wasn't really all that interested. But Mike, and his girlfriend Hannah, were planning on going, and they wanted Yanssel to join them for a beer at Genesee brew house before heading over. Yanssel doesn't often say no to a beer with friends, so he decided he'd join them and ended up going to the concert after all.

Yanssel, Mike, and Hannah got to the concert on time. Zach, as is customary, had decided to go on a date that conflicted with the time of the concert, and thanks to him, Emma and her friends were two hours late. And that's when they met. They introduced each other and ended up standing next to each other. The alcohol flowed, and at some point Emma put her arm around Yanssel's waist. The two seemed to hit it off. Mike, being a great wingman, went up to Emma and asked her whether she thought Yanssel was cute. Which, of course, he is.

When the band finished torturing their instruments, the party moved on over to a popular local bar. It was in this more intimate environment that Yanssel and Emma got to talk. They spoke about school and what they wanted to do once they were finished. Yanssel wanted to be a professor, and Emma wanted to be a nurse.
At this point in the night, everyone had lost count of how many drinks had been drunk. Yanssel asked Emma out on a date, and then, just to be safe and cover his bases, he asked her out on 14 more. Sushi, drinks, pizza, coffee? Coffee. They exchanged numbers, said their goodbyes, and contacted each other the next day. They went on their date a couple of weeks later.
...and now they're getting married!
